Decorate Your Home with the New SPRING Colors!

Spring is only a few weeks away (I hope!), so I wanted to share the new spring colors with you!
In decorating this spring, the color palette is filled with apple green, sunny yellow and bright coral. Also included in the spring color selection are aqua blue, tomato red and radiant orchid (the 2014 Pantone Color of the Year). And all of these colors really pop when used with white, black, grey!
If you’re ready to make a few changes to your color scheme this spring – consider one or more of the beautiful colors I mentioned above.
If you’re not ready to make a huge decorating change, try adding these beautiful colors in accessorizing your home, maybe your bathroom or kitchen; or add a couple of pillows to your sofa (as long as it doesn’t clash with your décor :-). They’ll give you a LIFT for spring!
As always, Happy Decorating everyone!

READY, SET, DOWNSIZE!

By Deborah Goode, CID
There can be many different reasons for downsizing – but moving is probably the most common. Well, I’m not moving, but the older I get the more I get annoyed at all the stuff I’ve accumulated over the years. Does this sound familiar to you?

And it's migrating to my two spare bedrooms and the closets are bulging at the seams. I'm really tired of the piles which seem to grow on a weekly basis. And eve…

A Relaxing Bedroom Color

Your bedroom should be calm, it should be a place of rest and relaxation. But all too often it becomes a place to catch up on work on and watch TV. While bad habits are hard to change you can still make your bedroom the oasis it ought to be using one simple trick-- paint it blue.

The color blue soothes the mind and promotes physical relaxation. It is a color that represents peace and tranquility, and it promotes calmness. It has been shown to slow the metabolism, suppress appetite and even to help reduce blood pressure and heart rate.
Blue is one of the most popular colors as demonstrated by the color trends for this year. Three top companies have chosen a shade of dark blue as their color of the year for 2020. Even the darker shades can make a room feel bigger and more spacious. But if you are not ready to paint the whole room in your favorite blue hue, try it on an accent wall or incorporate it into your décor choices.
Here are some great shades of blue to use in your bedroom:
