Announcing Pantone’s 2017 Color Trends

Pantone has announced its choices for the Top 10 Colors for Spring 2017, these colors range from bright and vivid to earthy neutrals.  They are colors that remind us of ones that surround us in nature. "Reminiscent of the hues that surround us in nature, our Spring 2017 Fashion Color Report evokes a spectrum of emotion and feeling. From the warmth of sunny days with PANTONE 13-0755 Primrose Yellow; to the invigorating feeling of breathing fresh mountain air with PANTONE 18-0107 Kale; and the desire to escape to pristine waters with PANTONE 14-4620 Island Paradise, designers applied color in playful, yet thoughtful and precise combinations to fully capture the promises, hope and transformation that we yearn for each Spring,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.

These are the colors that will be dominating all areas of design and decorating. And just like in 2016, we are seeing Blue as a prominent color.

Niagara- Pantone 17-4123 The most prevalent color for Spring is a denim-like blue that oozes the feelings of relaxation. This color reminds me of an old comfortable pair of jeans.

Primrose Yellow- Pantone 13-0755 This color makes me think of a sunny day. This is a warm yellow that is joyful and vivid. This color would brighten up any room.

Lapis Blue- Pantone 19-4045 Drawing inspiration from the semi-precious stone Lapis Lazuli, Lapis is a deep intense blue. This is a bold and strong color and certainly be a bold color choice for your space.

Flame- Pantone 17-1462 Want to add fiery heat to your room or wardrobe- then this is your color. This red-orange is vibrant and fun loving.

Island Paradise- Pantone 14-4620 This cool blue/ green shade speaks to me of dream vacations and tropical locations, like the name implies.

Pale Dogwood- Pantone 13-1404 Drawing colors from nature this color is found in the blossoms of the dogwood tree. It is a quiet and peaceful pink shade that put you in a tranquil mood.

Greenery- Pantone 15-0343 A soft yellow-color, Greenery, feels like spring. It is the color of flourishing foliage and meadow grasses. It is a refreshing color that would pair well with bright yellows and earthy neutrals.

Pink Yarrow- Pantone 17-2034 Another Tropical inspired color, Pink Yarrow, is a whimsical hue that is bold and captivating. Adding this color to any room would lift your spirits and improve your mood.

Kale- Pantone 19-0107 Another color that draws from nature as its inspiration, Kale is a deeper green. I think that this color could be a great new neutral color.

Hazelnut- Pantone 14-1315 Another key neutral for the spring. This shade is natural earthiness it is unpretentious and warm.

What colors inspire you for the upcoming year?  Happy Decorating!
